After visiting the distillery of Tequila Fortaleza in Mexico, Fortaleza’s brand ambassador Kobe Desmedt (aka The Belgian guy living in Tequila) asked me to represent the tequila brand at Belgium’s most famous spirits expo, Spirits In The Sky.
Tequila Fortaleza is a renowned artisanal tequila brand produced in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. Crafted using traditional methods passed down through generations, Fortaleza’s tequilas are made from 100% blue agave and cooked in brick ovens, crushed with a tahona wheel, fermented in wooden vats, and small-batch distilled in copper pot stills. This meticulous process results in tequilas with rich flavors, smooth textures, and a distinctively authentic character, appealing to both connoisseurs and enthusiasts of premium spirits.
Over the past few years, tequila has experienced a remarkable rise in popularity and recognition worldwide, evolving from a traditional Mexican spirit to a global phenomenon. The rise of premium and ultra-premium tequilas has elevated the category and tequila Fortaleza is widely considered as one of the best tequilas out there. I couldn’t agree more, so I was happy to be able to promote one of my favorite brands in my home country.
