After visiting the yearly award show “The world’s 50 best bars” already 3 times, I was invited to report on the equivalent of the competition for restaurants instead of bars: “The world’s 50 best restaurants“. It’s one of the biggest food events worldwide, so I was excited to be invited when the award show took place in my hometown, Antwerp.
I took over the social media of Belgian media company for a couple of hours to report on the award show, as well as documenting the entire day on my own social media (with ~50K followers).
They say “never meet your heroes”, well.. they are wrong. I got to meet some gastronomic industry icons like Massimo Bottura and Joan Roca, and even made a little drink for them at the Gin Mare booth at the award show!
