After judging the Belgian finale of the Rémy Martin Timeless Sidecar Competition, the French brand also hired me to judge the Benelux finale, where the winners from Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg met up to battle for a tickets for the global stage, the grand finale in Paris.
The level of drinks, as well as creativity, in this competition was really high. Belgian bartender David Lebeer (Piu di Piu) won the competition, but Elias Fayad (competing for The Netherlands) impressed so much that Rémy Martin decided to give him a wildcard to go through to the global finale as well.
Fun fact: Belgium’s participant David Lebeer ended winning the global finale in Paris as well!
