For it’s annual “The Bartender Society” event, Rhum Saint James hired me and double Michelin-starred chef Syrco Bakker for a workshop on foodpairing. Each year Saint James picks a different theme for the event. This time the theme was Gastronomie à la Martinique.
I was asked to create the official cocktail of The Bartender Society, and worked with chef Syrco on a fitting pairing. We presented the cocktail, the dish and it’s ‘making of’ in a workshop for all participants of The Bartender Society.
Later on the same day, Syrco and I were also judges in the Belgian leg of the Saint James cocktail competition.
The competition was won by Cedric Buscemi from Bar Romeo, Brussels.
